Photography Compositions and Negative Space

Negative Space:  The empty space around the subject or focus of the photograph. The use of negative space next to your subject matter can add up affects to the content and composition of photographs, it can show off the contour of something in the foreground or help angle or anchor the rest of the photograph. It is used to emphasize.

Graphic design

The elements of graphic design are line, shape, texture,space, size, value and color. 


Line: line is used to for making two points that connect, lines are used to organize, highlight, connect, suggest , create charts and ect. 


Shape: Everything and anything had shape. There are three types of shapes: Geometric, Natural and abstract. With Shape you can symbolize an idea, create a new format, highlight info, ect.


texture: look or feel of a surface, you an add richness and dimension, to an object or layout with texture. Texture can give emotion, mood and personality to a piece. 


Space: creates a distance or area between objects. It can separeate objects and create emphasis on a object.


Size: how large or small an object is. It can attract attention, contract two elements. and make easy to see.


Value: lightness or darkness of an area. Can create shades, shadow, suggest mood, separate, add emotion, create illusion of depth, create a patter and put emphasis on an object.


Color: creates images, gives moods, personality, appealing to the eye, can identify objects, attract the eye ect.

Developing the theme and QR CODES

Table of contents: i think that since our theme is apps, we should have a the table of full of apps, describing what each page is about. It should be full of color, and be about two pages. I think the apps should also be a medium size, because if they were too small that would make the table of contents look bunched up.

Student photos: I think that the picture could be in the form of a app.with the same font and everything to write the name of the student. For the senior pictures, we can have the picture of the senior and then the quote can be in the format of an status update.

Cover: the cover can be the front of an iphone/itouch, with the time as 20:12. the inside of the yearbook shouldbe filled with lots of color, and focus on technology not just apps, because the different apps can represent different things, like faceboook and youtube which is really popular among the school population.


QR CODES
for the QR codes i think we should have them on like pages where there are events, and club pictures, and in the corner we can have the QR codes saying "for more pictures on this event/club scan this picture with your smart phone" and so on. It can go nicely with the yearbook theme of technology and students can have fun with the yearbook. The QR codes can lead to extra pictures on the event/club. we would need a website for the extra picture tho :/

This is what i did on the sub day. at first i was having a bit of problems working with it, like the right black bar and how we are suppose to erase it. Then i had troubles posting it on my blog, so that might be  the reason why the picture wasnt posted before.
